Download and Install

Emorli runs on iPad and iPhone, on Android tablets and phones, and on Windows and Mac computers. You can install it on several devices — your boards sync automatically between all of them. This page explains how to install on each device, and what to do if a security warning appears along the way.

On the website's download page, emorli.com/download, there's no need to search: the download that matches the device you're browsing from appears as a large button in the center of the screen. Downloads for the other devices appear below it in a small row, for anyone downloading for a different device.

After installing, the next step is creating an account and signing in — and from there, continue with the Quick Start all the way to your first board.

iPad and iPhone

Download the app from the App Store — just like any other app. When the installation finishes, open it, and that's it.

Android tablets and phones

On Android, installation is a direct download of an installer file (APK) from our website — the app will also be available on Google Play soon.

  1. Open this link in the device's browser: emorli.com/downloads/apk. The download starts right away.
  2. If the device asks whether to save the file — confirm.
  3. When the download finishes, open the downloaded file (through the notification at the top of the screen, or through the Files app in the "Downloads" folder).
  4. The device may show a message saying it's not allowed to install apps from the browser. If so, tap Settings in the message, allow installing from this source, and go back.
  5. Tap Install and wait for it to finish.

👀 Note

These messages are normal Android behavior for any installation that doesn't come from the store — nothing specific to Emorli.

Windows computers

  1. Download the installer: emorli.com/downloads/windows.
  2. Run the downloaded file.
  3. Windows may show a security warning (SmartScreen). If so, click More info and then Run anyway.
  4. Follow the installation steps — when it finishes, the app appears in the Start menu.

Mac computers

  1. Download the DMG file: emorli.com/downloads/macos.
  2. Open the file and drag "Emorli" into the Applications folder.
  3. On first launch, the computer may refuse to open the app. If so, right-click it (or click while holding Control) and choose Open — from then on it opens normally.

In the browser, no installation

Emorli also has web addresses that work straight from the browser, on any computer:

  • dashboard.emorli.com — your account dashboard: account details, your license and devices. From inside the app it opens already signed in, through Settings.
  • app.emorli.com — a remote management portal for professionals: creating and editing boards for patients, straight from the browser. More about this in Sharing and Collaboration.

Version updates

  • When a new version is out, a A new version is available message appears on the home screen with an Update button that opens the right download location for your device. You can close the message and update later.
  • If the installed version is too old, the app shows an Update required screen with the explanation "The installed version is no longer supported" and an Install the new version button. In that case you need to update to keep using the app.
