FAQ and Troubleshooting
We've gathered here the questions we're asked most often. Didn't find an answer? Our contact options are waiting at the bottom of that page.
Many questions are answered by watching: the video guide demonstrates the whole app in a single video, split into chapters.
Does the app work without internet?
Yes. Emorli is built to work without internet — using boards, speech, editing, and creating boards manually always work. An internet connection is required only for:
- Creating and editing boards with AI.
- Searching the web for images in the tile editor.
- Syncing between devices and sharing — changes made while offline sync automatically when the connection returns.
After more than 7 consecutive days without internet, the app will ask for a one-time network connection to verify your account — see License and Devices.
Windows shows a warning during installation — what do I do?
This is a standard Windows SmartScreen warning about software downloaded from the internet. To continue: click More info and then Run anyway. Full installation instructions for every device are on the Download and Install page.
My Mac won't let me open the app
On the first launch on a Mac: instead of double-clicking the app, give it a right-click (or click while holding the Control key) and choose Open. From the next time on it opens normally. More details in Download and Install.
Why can't I edit a board I received from a professional?
Boards received through sharing are available for viewing and use only — that way the professional work stays in the hands of whoever sent them. If you still want a version of your own: a long press on the board on the home screen (when unlocked) and choosing Duplicate to my boards creates a copy you can edit freely. Note that the copy will no longer receive updates from the sender.
I forgot the lock code
In the code entry dialog, tap Forgot the code? — signing in to your Emorli account will show you the saved code (an internet connection is required). More about the lock code on the Settings page.
I tapped a navigation tile and a message says the board was deleted
The navigation tile points to a board that no longer exists. The fix: enter edit mode, open the tile, and re-point its navigation action to an existing board (or remove it).
A word sounds wrong when spoken
Three ways to fix it, from lightest to heaviest:
- Fixing the word's nikud (Hebrew vowel marks) — usually that's all it takes.
- Setting a spoken text that's different from the text shown on the tile.
- A personal recording — your own voice instead of the automatic speech.
How do I report a problem?
- A problem with a specific tile (an unsuitable picture, wrong nikud, and so on) — the tile editor has a Report a problem button that sends us the details directly.
- For anything else — the Contact us section in Settings: the WhatsApp group, email (contact@emorli.com), or Instagram.
I switched devices — what do I do?
Sign in to your account on the new device — your boards, pictures, and recordings will sync to it automatically. If all the device slots in your license are taken, unlink the old device first — the full explanation is on the License and Devices page.
Which languages is Emorli available in?
Emorli was built from the ground up for Hebrew — right-to-left directionality, full nikud (Hebrew vowel marks) and Hebrew speech — and it's also available in English and Arabic. You pick the interface language in Settings, in the display group; existing boards are not affected. This guide is available in all three languages too — the language switcher is at the top of the page.
A screen appears asking me to update the app
The "Update required" screen appears when the installed version is too old and no longer supported. Tap Install the new version — the button takes you to the store or the downloads page that matches your device. See also Download and Install.
