Hebrew Keyboard

The “Hebrew keyboard” is a special board that comes built into the app, found on the home screen under “Special boards”. Instead of word tiles it has letter tiles, laid out like a standard Hebrew keyboard — so users who know how to spell can say any word, even one that has no tile on any board.

Free typing

  1. Tap letters — each letter joins the word being built on the reading line.
  2. The space key ends a word; a blinking cursor on the line signals that the next letter will start a new word.
  3. The delete button on the reading line deletes one letter per tap, and the clear button starts over.
  4. When the sentence is ready — tapping the play button reads it out in full.

Reaching it from any board

You can get to the keyboard without going back to the home screen: a tile with the “Open the keyboard” action jumps straight to it from any board — handy when most of the conversation happens on a word board and only occasionally something needs to be spelled out. How to set up such a tile — on the Tile actions page. The words already chosen stay on the reading line, and typing picks up where you left off — on a new word.

💡 Tip

The keyboard complements word boards, it doesn't replace them: words that come up again and again deserve a tile of their own, with an image and a voice — see Tiles.
